Cartel Tycoon: Characters

Cartel Tycoon is a survival business sim inspired by the ‘80s and '90s narco trade: carteltycoon.com 👈

💡Character design
We wanted diverse characters, so we drew inspiration from people all over Latin America. Sometimes we based characters on people from movies or documentaries, and other times, we came up with the personality or role of the character first and then designed their appearance.

💡Lieutenants
Lieutenants are characters who join the player's cartel. We wanted them to be easy to tell apart, so we used hats, big hairstyles, tattoos, and masks to make them distinctive and memorable. (с) MoonMoose Studio

For the portraits, we used a fusion of comic-style graphics and watercolor art. Traditional drawing techniques, even in digital form, allowed us to make the characters feel more vibrant and lively.

This good-looking man was the topic of much discussion. In our initial drafts, he appeared more innocent and harmless, but as he is a chieftain, we made his appearance tougher for the final design.
